Tree Roots

It didn't surprise me that I ended up with a career in education because I am a life long student myself, devoted to learning and growing.

I'm a story teller, a globe trotter, and cheerleader for self-empowerment and holistic, balanced, heart-led living. I have a passion for mentoring and team development, having been fortunate enough on my path to have received wonderful guidance along the way, and I have dedicated my professional life to paying that forward to my students, my colleagues, and my teams.

I earned my BA from Indiana University in History and East Asian Studies, with two minors in International Studies (Global Humanities) and Russian & Eastern European Studies.

I also have an MFA from Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts in Film Production and Directing.

I learned French and Japanese (but definitely wouldn't call myself fluent), studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland and Tokyo, Japan as an undergrad, and did an internship at the Cannes Film Festival in France during grad school.

I've had many adventures (and misadventures!) around the world, traveling to over 50 countries for both work and personal enrichment.

I've worked for a diverse range of institutions, learning best practices in international enrollment management, strategic planning, credentials evaluation, financial aid budgeting, student recruitment and advising, and communications and marketing from some of the best mentors in the business. One of my proudest accomplishments is that I've led and developed high performing, long-retaining teams for the past nine years of my career.

I have taught the admissions program at Syracuse University's Summer College for high school students, and facilitated the International College Advising professional certification program for the University of Pennsylvania.

I also serve as a volunteer mentor for a scholarship program called SHE-CAN, and connect to my local community through singing with the Indianapolis Women's Chorus.
